Think this tattoo might serve as a warning.
Oh, look his tag will tell us if he's had all his shots! |
WHY!?
Of all the appropriation trends, tattoos are the ones I understand the least. Why would anyone want something from another culture permanently drawn on their skin with a vibrating needle?stolen from

Two wolves, a dream-catcher, generic "tribal" markings, feathers and a turquoise tramp stamp?
(I'm not even going to ask about the bondage collar)

Yes, it's a wolf-catcher. They even added pony-beads to the design.

I'm not even sure where to begin with this one!
I think the, um, roll adds that extra special something to the shading, though.

Oh look, someone indigenized Star Gate.
Sadly, I feel I must deduct points for the lack of wolf in this tattoo.

Wolf eyes, sky faces, horse, maidens #1 & #2 , one even has the "O" face...is that an eagle over there, too?
Yup, she wins the internet.

My Kitteh eyes...they are burning....
ReplyDeleteSistah Kitteh, without a wolf tattoo, no one will know your dedication to your spirit brothers in the Wolf Clan ;)
ReplyDeleteI am angry with the wolf clan. They are related to the dog clan, who consistently oppress me!!
ReplyDeleteDon't know you....but I stumbled upon your blog in an extremely random Google phenomenon. Just wanted to say that your blog was extremely insightful. I'm 1/4 Cherokee, but know very little about my own culture. I've been trying to explore it recently...and oddly this is not how I encountered your blog! Anyhow, I appreciate your sense of humor, as well as your stance on ignorance. Sadly, there will always be ignorance. Keep up the great blogging. Sincerely, Josh
ReplyDeleteHow is the first tattoo native related/inspired? It's just a wolf, a lot of people like wolves.
ReplyDeleteI understand the rest though.

looked at your page a little bit here, and came to a few conclusions. It would help your spirit if you didn't hate so much. appreciate the beautiful culture for what it was, and still is.
ReplyDeleteeh its 2013 and in America now every culture is bastardized and to hang on to archaic symbols with a sense of nostalgic romanticism or patriotic meaning is rather backwards and stiffleing to the evolution of everyone globally. Its time all cultures and races crossblend and get over thinkgs..And tattoos don't have to be anything other than something to wear on your body and if it pleases the wearer who are we to hate. Those days are over and if your home has central heat and air then nobody can say anything about anything traditional.
ReplyDeleteThe second to the last one, is that a hamster swallowing him?
